today my anthro professor said something kindof really beautiful:

“you all have a little bit of ‘I want to save the world’ in you, that’s why you’re here, in college. I want you to know that it’s okay if you only save one person, and it’s okay if that person is you”

I feel like a few people I know could stand to read this.

For the USA/ UK uni anon, there are a few things you could look into (1) Prices (UK is cheaper) (2) UK courses= 3years, USA= 4years (3) They use different grading systems and weigh your work differently (4) People generally study 1 subject in the UK (5) UK uses a universal application process (called UCAS) and you only pay about £20 to apply for 5 unis, you pay and apply individually for US unis (6) UK student visa allows employment to 20hp/w (7) There are very few UK scholarships

This is so helpful, thank you!! Also wtf is with paying for each individual application!?

Hey! I’m currently debating going to college in England vs. the US (I’m from America but want to eventually live in England). Was wondering if you have any pros/cons or suggestions about this? Also thanks in advance and you’re amazing and I really look up to you <3 <3

hey!! I’m not from the US or England so I can’t speak personally of any experiences of college in these countries but I’d recommend talking to as many people from both sides as possible and just doing as much research as possible into how college life varies, including accommodation, fees, living cost, societies, etc.  Maybe even watching people talk about their experiences of college in those countries on youtube may help? For an English opinion, Holly Gabrielle has really honest vlogs about studying in Cambridge. I don’t really know anyone from the US in college that I could recommend tbh but just from having a quick look there’s a lot of videos online comparing the two!
Also if anyone reading this has any experience/knowledge on this feel free to add on! 💛

Hey! I know you’re a zoo major and was curious if you have taken OChem yet. I am a molecular bio major and have to take it next semester and honestly the horror stories are scaring me and was wondering if you had any tips to doing well

I did it in my first year but I honestly don’t remember that much except I struggled having never done any form of chem before. However what I found really useful was youtube. Especially channels like Khan Academy and Tyler DeWitt. I used to just type the problem I was having trouble with into google and youtube and there would usually be a helpful response and there are so many resources online for ochem.

Omg you are just cute, studying zoology🐸 💞(in my country that doesn't exist) 😭.

if you wanna do it have a look and see if there are other ways into it!! There’s no direct zoology course here so I had to start with general science and then do zoo!

I will reblog this every time.

Literally this.

Getting dirty, asking questions, being unapologetically enthusiastic about things, going overboard on projects. These are a few of my favorite things.

This is so heartbreaking, but so true.
